The Empowering Youth to Elevate Accountability (EYEA) Project, led by the Youth Bridge Foundation (YBF) with support from Star Ghana and funding from the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office is designed to help young people in Ghana track and evaluate political promises. With 2024 marked by a crucial election, the project assessed how well the manifestos of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Movement for Change (M4C) aligned with the aspirations of Ghanaian youth. Using a youth sensitivity analysis, the EYEA project examined commitments related to job creation, education, entrepreneurship, governance participation, and social inclusion. The analysis is based on key youth-focused frameworks, including the African Union (AU) Youth Charter and Ghana’s National Youth Policy (NYP). By comparing political party promises with these standards, the project sheds light on areas of progress, gaps, and opportunities for youth-focused policy improvements.
